YourShift Limited is a registered New Zealand company based in Christchurch, and makes good use of the kiwi ingenuity that is abundant here.
The company's product, YourShift, started out life 14 years ago as an Adobe Flash based system and was limited to just the simplistic arranging of shifts for users. It has grown and developed since then into a complete HTML5 solution, compatible with mobile and tablet devices, with many additional features such as shift automation, an event/diary system, company contact manager, reporting system and much more.
Now at version 4.1, YourShift helps companies and organisations create, plan and manage staffing hours and shifts using smart algorithmic configurable technology to achieve an end result that creates massive time and management savings. All the while providing an interface for both staff and management to check and make modifications where needed from any internet enabled device.
After obtaining a post graduate diploma in post production visual effects Ian went on to work for and run a number of different companies who specialised in a host of different services including 3D visualisation, video game production, music production, programming and web design.
With over fifteen years experience in programming alone and running a successful web design business producing hundreds of web designs and websites for over a decade, Ian undertook the challenge of writing a web based system to help manage shifts to fill a hole in the market. He then teamed up with friend and fellow programmer Simon Chester and together they took Ian's working concept and created the first version of YourShift.
Having over five years worth of experience, working on and designing online and desktop based applications, Simon started his own company doing just that. During that time Simon was asked to team up with Ian to create the first version of YourShift.
